Let us start with an example. What is something we all use? Emails. Everyone today has an email ID. The emails that we receive are stored in our accounts due to cloud technology. You can access your emails on any device with just an internet connection and make changes whenever you like. It’s basically a hard-drive but without the hard-drive hassle involved. You don’t need to constantly update your data because the data is saved the second you make a change to it.
On a side note, I am writing this blog in my google doc in my gmail account and as I type the words they instantly get saved. It’s like magic. There have been times when I would use a regular word document and lose my data because of some error.
To give you a definition, cloud-based technology or cloud hosting is a software and layered servers system that allows you to access your data over the internet. It is a system that not only stores data but has also made processing data easy. It lets you access your data, but also allows multi-user access making communication and working together possible.
Cloud technology has benefits for individuals personally and professionally. Whether you are a business owner or an employee or a manager, cloud hosting is a benefit for all of you. You no longer have to worry about forgetting your laptop that has an important presentation on it. You simply just sign in into the cloud system, and access the presentation. It is only through this cloud based system that employees are able to flexibly work from home or connect from different countries all together.
One thing that is great about cloud hosting is security and privacy of data. There are three types of cloud hosting technologies: public, private and hybrid which is a mix of both. According to your privacy and security you can choose from the system and use cloud technology to keep your data and important information safe. Hence, with cloud technology your data is stored and easy to access but is also safe and secure.
The biggest difference cloud technology has brought is that of acceptance of software systems. Cloud technology helps in cutting costs and saving time. It has given the IT department a seat at the main core table from the table of ‘think about later’. This is because you only pay for what you use when it comes to cloud technology. You can modify your usage based on traffic and your software systems.
Apart from organizational benefits, this system makes communication with customers seamless. If a company is client centric, then going back and forth with drafts and designs becomes ten times easier with cloud technology. Similarly, going through customer feedback and scanning consumer details also becomes easy.
Cloud hosting is for all systems. Biometrics, accounting, booking appointments, storing data, customer relationship management, client relationship, point-of-sale systems, ecommerce, retailing, delivery systems, and so on. It has so many benefits and potential for more and more features. It helps you in every way, improving and boosting your work. In the end this will all lead to your product or expected result to be effective and efficient.
